First Day

Boo started her new gym today and she really, really liked it. She’s already made friends with the other 7-year-old in the group. The two of them are the youngest by about a year and a half but even the older girls were nice. She said the coaches were great and helped her a lot. They even spotted her on several flyaways! She did a bunch on the low bar and then did three on the high bar. She says that was the best part of the whole practice.

Of course, we can’t seem to have a day without drama around here. At home this afternoon, Boo was walking from the front yard to the patio and missed the step up. She smashed her shin on the edge of the concrete patio and ended up with a huge goose egg. The real problem was the amount of pain and the fact that she couldn’t put any weight on it. So, off we went for x-rays. Luckily, the doctor said it’s just a really deep bruise but no fracture. Whew! Motrin, rest and ice and she’ll be good as new. As for practice tomorrow, the doctor said to see how she’s feeling in the morning. She, of course, is saying that it feels much better and she’ll be fine to go to practice. LOL. Guess we’ll see in the morning.

How is Boo's shin? I hope that it is feeling better. What hours do she practice at her new gym? I am glad that she likes it. Thats great that you got to do fly aways Boo!!! I am sure that you will be able to do them by yourself soon!

Boo's shin is better. It was fine until she did vault and smacked it again. After that, it hurt to run. But, her coaches are very understanding and gave her other things to do that didn't hurt. She's doing fine now. Thanks for your concern.
