11/05/2008 06:40:00 PM- Accident and Minor Injury

Today was Boo's second day at her new gym. All was going great until they started doing back tucks from a spring board onto 8" mats. She did it twice with the coach spotting her and those were pretty good. So she tried it by herself. And didn't make it. She didn't get enough bounce, didn't push away from the board enough, and didn't rotate all the way around resulting in her landing on the edge of the spring board on her head. She is okay but she sustained a nasty cut near the top of her head which bled a lot. Luckily, I was at practice when it happened, though I didn't see it. The coach cleaned her up the best she could and we put ice on it trying to stop the bleeding. By the time I got home with her, the bleeding had pretty much stopped, though she had to shower to get it all out of her hair. Anyway, she's doing fine now, though admittedly a little nervous about her next practice on Friday.
