10/12/2008 07:34:00 PM- New Gym

Last week, my husband and I went to check out a new gym that has a team program with daytime practices for home schooled girls. We watched a couple hours of practice and were simply blown away. The girls were amazing, the facilities were very nice and the coaches were knowledgeable and very good. So, we decided to take Boo for a try out to see what she thought.

She went to practice with them on Friday and had a great day. Afterward, I spoke with the head optional coach who runs the program. She said they would train Boo at level 5 and have her compete a couple of meets in April or May. She would then, if Boo is ready, have her score out of level 6 and be training level 7 by this time next year. She also wants her to do TOPs and possibly test as early as next summer. The coach also said that they, the optionals coaches, would keep Boo with them rather than have her train with the compulsory coaches. This sounds like an honor to me as she would ordinarily have to practice at least one day a week with the compulsory group. This program is truly impressive and Boo is VERY excited about it.

So, the plan now is to switch gyms November 1st and begin home schooling, too. Big changes but we're quite excited about the possibilities. Imagine! Boo has gone from competing level 2 to training level 5 in six short months!
